Whether it's because a scientific discovery/breakthrough was created by religious motivations or that such studies have revealed data that is antithetical to the creeds of religion. Such as the age of the Earth, the credibility of the stories told in the holy scriptures that are portrayed as real to each following, and the existence of god. But that isn't the concern of the this article.

What we're talking about is how there are people who treat science as a religion, such as the majority of Redditors and Professor Egghead, who treats himself as a cardinal of science. These followers of science are known as Atheists, not to be confused with Scientologists.

Like most religions Science has its benevolent major figures atheists like to associate for improving its image, such as the biologist and mascot David Attenborough and Astronomers: Sir Patrick Moore and Brian Cox. The zealots who like to use Science to believe they are superior to those who don't believe in Science, like the aforementioned Redditors and Richard Dawkins. Atheists have no building of worship.

Akin to Buddhism. Science has no god or gods mentioned in its culture, hence why its followers are called Atheists. But unlike Buddhism. They do not believe in an afterlife or reincarnation at all and believe our consciousness immediately ends, and that's it.

Skeptics of scientists demonize them with images of soyjaks and 🤓, and mock for the fact most Atheists still curse god's name in vain or celebrate religious annual ceremonies like Christmas.
